Creativity by Design: Exploring diverse artists and designers and their process. Why do we create?
This course explores the impact of artists and designers in the fields of art, dance, music, film, theatre, and writing. We will follow the creative process of “I’s”:
Inspiration, Incubation, Illumination, Interpretation
Inspiration.
Fearless CREATING; THE ART OF OBSERVING AND ABSTRACTING; POSTING SECRETS; Exploring SPARKS OF GENIUS.
Incubation.
How to connect ART & FEAR? How to overcome your fears? HOW TO SAY YES FOR A YEAR? How TO own your own S***?
Illumination.
DEBATE; ABILITY & IDENTITY, ADVOCACY, ARTIST/FAN RELATIONSHIP, PARODY. ART VS. CRAFT, GRAFFITI VS. VANDALISM, LGBTQ+ IDENTITY, WHAT’S (DIS)ABILITY IN PERFORMANCE?
Interpretation.
WHY do we create? To entertain? To live fully? To be creative during COVID? To preserve culture? To celebrate hope? To offer new perspectives? To evoke sensibility and intimacy?
